Eugene Izumo

Eugene Izumo has over 20 years of strategic advisory and business management experience. He has advised on public and private sellside, buyside and capital raising deals totaling more than $6 billion in value. Eugene leverages his unique interdisciplinary experience in business operations management, healthcare, technology, education and corporate finance to help his clients navigate complex business strategy decisions and transaction processes.
Before founding Akos, Eugene was a Managing Director at B. Riley Financial, where he advised on the firm’s most successful transaction in its 20-year history. He began his investment banking career at Citi and Houlihan Lokey (fka GCA Savvian). In addition, Eugene has led large operations teams at McMaster-Carr (a multibillion-dollar industrials business) and at several high-growth, venture-backed companies.
Eugene studied neuroscience and computer science at Brown University, received his Master's in Math Education from Loyola Marymount University, graduated with distinction from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and completed the Global Healthcare Leadership Executive Program at Harvard. He is an active member of the UCLA community, serving as the President of the Board Connections at Anderson Alumni Group.
